Support Committee

Parents and members of the community, please consider joining our Support Committee!

What does the 709 Support Committee do?

The 709 Support Committee is responsible for providing help to

the Corps in a number of areas, including:

  • Organizing fundraising activities, including Tag Days;
  • Coordinating canteen refreshments on parade nights; and,
  • Organizing food on weekend activities.

Who are the members of the Support Committee?

The Support Committee consists mostly of parents of past and present Cadets and members of the community who wish to assist a youth organization like ours. Former Cadets and members of the military, as well as community members, are often involved with Cadets Corps Support Committees.

What is the time commitment?

You can join the Support Committee as a volunteer who contributes on a regular basis, or one who is available on occasions when you have time. Any amount of time that you can commit will help improve the Cadet experience. New volunteers are always welcome!

Do I need to have a security clearance?

Yes! All adults who work around Cadets, volunteer or paid staff, must undergo a security clearance process, which is standard practice for any organization where adults work with youth in Ontario. Depending on your role, you may also undergo screening by the Department of National Defence.

If you are interested in getting involved simply drop in and we will explain the entire process to you and provide all the information that you will need to move forward.

How can I get involved?

If you would like to help, we would love to hear from you. Simply call us at 647-966-7447, or e-mail us at supportchair@709cadets.ca.
